Bandung, June 6th, 2024 – PT Intercrus Aero Indonesia officially entered into a collaboration with PT Dirgantara Indonesia (PTDI) through the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU). The ceremony marked the beginning of a formal partnership between the two companies. The MoU was signed by Moh. Arif Faisal, Director of Commercial, Technology, and Development at PTDI, and Jeremy Hasian Saragih, CEO of PT Intercrus Aero Indonesia. The signing was witnessed by Gita Amperiawan, President Director of PTDI.
The collaboration between PTDI and Intercrus will encompass joint development, manufacturing, certification, and commercialization of Intercrus Aero’s flagship product, the Intercrus Sola. Sola is a revolutionary eVTOL (electric Vertical Take-Off & Landing) aircraft designed for vertical take-offs and landings. It offers a promising solution for enhancing urban transportation, particularly in areas with limited space. Moreover, Sola provides an environmentally friendly solution that supports the global goal of achieving net-zero emissions.
The development of Sola represents a significant advancement in the growing trend of Advanced Air Mobility (AAM). With a capacity of four passengers or up to 1,200 kg, Sola enables travel speeds up to 9-10 times faster than conventional ground transportation. This innovation has the potential to ease traffic congestion and improve economic efficiency. Beyond civil, logistic, and tourism applications, Sola’s capabilities can also be extended to serve military and defense purposes.
Recognizing its strong potential, PT Intercrus Aero Indonesia is moving forward with the development of the Sola prototype with great optimism. The company is committed to ensuring that Sola meets the highest safety and regulatory standards, with the goal of obtaining certification from both the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) in Indonesia and the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) in the United States. Achieving these certifications will be a crucial milestone in bringing Sola to market and establishing its credibility on a global scale.
Gita, the President Director of PTDI, expressed strong optimism in Sola’s potential to address the rapidly growing demand for Advanced Air Mobility (AAM). This collaboration reflects a shared vision to advance Indonesia’s aerospace capabilities and contribute to the future of sustainable, high-efficiency transportation.
